An engine built for 2008
Every duel runs on a rules engine we wrote ourselves for this client: the cards, the timing and the rulings as they were in 2008, decided on the server for both players.
Written for this client
It speaks the 2008 game's own duel language, so the client's own duel screen shows the prompts, chains and results.
The rules of the time
The card texts and timing of 2008, and the cards that game had. Your old decks play the way you remember.
Kept up to date
Card fixes and updates land continuously, so duels keep running smoothly. Found a card that plays wrong?
!cardbug in the game tells us.
Every card scripted in full
3,199 of 3,199 cards play their full text, counted live from the server.
The server decides
Every duel is played out on the server: both players see the same duel, and a modified client can't change the rules or the result.
Fair opponents
NPCs play by the same rules as you and never see your hidden cards; their decks are tuned to their difficulty tier.
The 2008 client, made for today
The game was made for 1024 × 768 monitors and the Windows of its day. The launcher fits it to yours. Every fix runs in memory while you play, and your copy of the game stays exactly as it is.
Most fixes are on from the start; the rest are one switch away in the launcher's settings. The launcher shows on its Game page which ones are active for you.
And then we kept going
Raids for the whole server, NPCs back with decks of our own, our own events and titles, a ban list we can rebalance. That's the part we made.
- →Made hereEverything we added on top of the original.
- →RoadmapWhat we finished lately, and what comes next.
- →Start playingBring your copy; the launcher does the rest.
