Who is responsible
Revived Online, a free and non-commercial fan project, is responsible for the data described here. Contact: contact@playrevived.com. Mail to this address is kept by our mail provider, Infomaniak, in Switzerland, and forwarded to our Gmail inbox (Google).
What we keep, and why
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your account: login ID, password, recovery code (only a fingerprint of it) | To let you play. The 2008 game's login needs the server to know your password, so it is stored encrypted, not as a one-way hash: use a password you use nowhere else. | Until you delete the account |
| Your characters: names, looks, cards, decks, progress, records, titles, presents | The game itself | Until you delete the account or the character |
| A record of rewards and trades (what you received, bought, picked, traded) | To fix mistakes, stop cheating and undo fraudulent trades | Kept; after deletion under a random ID, not your login |
| Friends, ignore lists, teams, D-mail | The game's social features | Mail until it's read; the rest until you change it or delete the account |
| Chat | Moderation of reports | Held in memory for 30 minutes only. If someone reports a player, that player's last lines (up to 20) are kept with the report. |
| Reports and moderation records | Safety, appeals, stopping ban evasion | Reports kept, under a random ID after deletion; the staff action log 1 year |
Feedback tickets (from the launcher or !bug/!idea) |
To answer you and fix things | Kept; after deletion under a random ID |
| Launcher sign-in: a sign-in key (we keep only its fingerprint), the launcher's version | So the game's login can fill itself in safely | 30 days after last use, or until you sign out |
| Connection logs: IP addresses, times, logins | Running the server, security, abuse | 14 days |
| Crash reports, only if you choose to send one | Fixing crashes | Technical details only (versions, graphics card, error codes); no login, no IP address |
| Backups of the game data | Recovering from failures | Hourly copies 48 hours, daily copies 14 days |
We don't collect e-mail addresses, real names, payment data or anything about your PC beyond the above. If you write to us by e-mail, we keep your message and address only as long as we need them to answer. The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.
What others can see
Like in the original game, some things are public: your character's name, level, title and duel record on the players page, event and tournament standings, and the replays of recent player-vs-player duels (the latest 100 per lobby), which show the characters and their decks. Pick a character name you don't use anywhere else.
Legal bases
Running your account and the game is needed to provide the service you signed up for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Connection logs, moderation, reports and backups rest on our legitimate interest in a safe, working server (Art. 6(1)(f)). Crash reports are sent only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Swiss players are covered by the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) in the same way.
Where it is kept
On our server, run in Switzerland or the European Union. We share data with no one; the hosting provider only keeps the machine running.
See, fix or delete your data
- Delete your account yourself at Delete account. Your account, characters, mail, friends, standings and replays go at once; the reward and trade record, reports, tickets and sanctions stay under a random ID so the game's books and moderation stay correct; backups age out within 14 days.
- See or correct your data, or object to a use of it: write to the contact above. We answer within 30 days.
- Complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your country's data protection authority.
Security
The website, the account pages and the launcher talk to the server over encrypted connections, your password is stored encrypted, and the launcher keeps its sign-in key encrypted by Windows. The 2008 game itself is old software: its game traffic (chat included) is not encrypted the modern way, so treat in-game chat as public and never share personal details there. If we ever learn of a breach that puts you at risk, we report it to the FDPIC and tell those affected.
Age
Revived Online is for players aged 16 and over (see the terms).
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we say so on the website and in the game's news.
